Tye Tribbett Mess

A man is messing around with a member of his musical group's baby's momma, also a member. He gets counseling from his minister friend who is married and the minister commits adultery with his wife. Sounds like something from an R&B, Rock, or Rap group, but this Jerry Springer Show stuff is reportedly happening with Tye Tribbett and GA

While I haven't seen any proof of these reports as being true, I would thin TT's P.R. people would be quick to get on the Internet to put the rumors to rest. I haven't seen that yet but if that is true, it is another blow to the Gospel Music Industry. Not too long ago Tonex came out the closet, Yvette Flunder(Thank You Lord, Special Gift) been out the closet, Hawkins divorced, Marvan and Vicky Winans divorced, BeBe accused of pushing his ex-wife. Many other male artist who never have been married with all these single ladies in church. What is going on.

Let's look at these artist. Many are part of the Gospel Industry, Industry means making money as your goal. I am not saying this is the goal of many, but ask some local big name artist to sing at your free church program free and see how many will. People who are in it to sell records, lusting after fame and riches are often lusting after other things. Yes they may talk saved, sing saved, if they didn't we wouldn't buy there music if they talked positive about living a life of sin in Jesus name, would we.

Immorality in Gospel is nothing new, but is a reflection of what is happening in the church. Many of our Gospel pioneers and greats have been rumored to be gay, but dare not come out of the closet in the past because the church was against it. Now that we are in the don't judge age, and gay marriage age, we are now appearing to accept sin as being normal in the church as well as the industry. We know immorality has been going on, but we uplift these people because they sound good and we have no proof of their sins. What ever happened to the gift of discernment? The church must take a stand against sin in the pulpit and not look away on the music stage.

I love Tye Tribbet's music and many of his lyrics. But I questioned why did he have the appearance of the world. There is a saying if you look like a duck, talk like a duck, walk like a duck, you must be a duck. I will still listen to his music and will pray for restoration of all, and will also continue to examine my own self lest I fall. I am not claiming to live a sin free life since I have been saved, but repentance is a change of attitude. I wonder how many of these artist in sin have an attitude of repentance. Many will look past this and say because of the homosexuality in Gospel, at least they were sinning in the right direction. Relieved or not heterosexual sin is as bad as homosexual sin. The difference is that the heterosexual sinful relationship under certain circumstances(some people will have to die) could be made right as with David. Satan will use this situation to make it seem OK to sin saying we are not perfect. We should never allow our imperfection be used as excuse to continue in sin since we are under grace.(Rom. 6:1) Let us pray for them all that the marriages be restored, and that the group member being sexually used will not use this as a reason to fall away
